Space Activities of the Czech Republic
The Ministry of Transport was a driving force in negotiations concerning the accession of the Czech Republic to the ESA, which represents for the Czech Republic the most opportunities in space activities, in terms of maximizing benefits to society as a whole.
Membership in the ESA is an essential precondition for strengthening the efforts of the Czech Republic on the candidature for location of the the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Supervisory Authority (GSA) to Prague. Accession of the Czech Republic to the ESA has been an essential stimulus for change in approaching space activities, including the need to develop the National Space Plan.
